Dr M.A.Page-Jones (Mike)
Welcome
to my personal web .The links below leads to my Links and Hobbies pages -enter at your own risk, web authorship is only something which I am dabbling in for fun!About me
I am currently enjoying working as a Senior RF engineer at Roke Manor Research, which is an electronics R&D company in Hampshire. The Roke website will give you an idea of the sort of things I might be working on.
My PhD is from Kings' College London, entitled 'Components For Optical Signal Analysis and Routing' This links to the thesis abstract.
My first degree is in Physics, from Christ Church Oxford.
Before I moved to Roke I was working at the University of York and have worked on all-optical switching, optical fibre based spectrum analysis and microwave oscillators with very low phase noise, using transposed gain methods and temperature stabilised sapphire resonators. Just before I moved to Roke I was working on a project called Fibre Radio and Network Services (FRANS) funded by the European Union. This project demonstrated a high-speed data link of 622 Mbit/sec over a fibre and microwave link, with the fibre running to a common pole feeding a number of houses by microwave. My part in the project was the design of antennas and filters for the microwave link part of the project. Other collaborating partners were producing the other components.
Link to my CV (rather badly ported from another format!) Lists publications while at university etc.
