When I get the time I enjoy climbing, hiking and hill-walking. I am also a former assistant Scout leader, and hold Wood Badge (having completed leader training), an amateur canoeist (holding British Canoe Union 2 star award). I am interested in machinery, and building techniques both old and new, and enjoy solving almost any new problem. Although there seems to be less time for it now I enjoy reading, both fiction and non fiction. I also enjoy radio and electronic gadget construction as a hobby, possess class B amateur radio licence (G7VZY) and when I have fully mastered Morse code I intend to convert to class A with a view to HF operation.
